A massive fire engulfed Mehboob Colony in Tila Village, Lahorijan (Assam), on Saturday afternoon, destroying over 150 houses. According to fire officials, three fire tenders from Central Fire Station and one from West Fire Station, Dimapur, along with two fire tenders from Assam, were deployed to control the blaze.
The cause of the fire and the extent of property damage remain unclear as of now. Fortunately, no casualties were reported till the time of filing this report. Investigation into the incident is underway. Meanwhile, sources said that property worth around Rs. 40 lakhs were destroyed in the fire.
