Fire and Emergency Services (F&ES) mobilized a quick response team from Fire Station Dimapur Central, Fire Station Dimapur West & Fire Station Chumukedima contain fire outbreak at Dudu Colony, Lahorijan Assam on July 7 afternoon.
A press release from F&ES deputy SP (F&ES) T. Shilu Jamir stated that, six fire tenders along with sufficient equipments & fire personnel were pressed into action, while two fire tenders from BokaJan, Assam also joined the fight.
Approximately 150 to 200 houses were gutted in the inferno.
It took the fire team 2 hours 30 minutes to contain the fire. One minor girl succumbed from burnt and two were still missing till the time of filing this report.
Due to timely response from fire team, the fire was prevented from spreading to the adjoining houses. Cause of fire is unknown.
The response team was led by OC A Wati Jamir and duty commander, SI Mezovilie Martin, SI Thungathung, SI Kennyhun Kent & ASI G. Niamlungpou Gonmei.
