Tuensang. Fire and Emergency Services mobilised a quick response team from Fire Station Tuensang on receiving fire call from Loyem ground on July 6 at 11 a.m.
A press release from F&ES deputy SP T. Shilu Jamir stated that, three fire tenders along with sufficient equipments and fire personnel were pressed into action. Traditional morung used for quarantine kitchen centre for COVID-19, traditional morung belonging to Yunyu Union Tuensang were completely burnt and two traditional morungs belonging to Khudei and Nakshou Union Tuensang were partially burnt in the inferno. Property worth 5 lakhs approximately was lost in the inferno.
However, timely response from fire team contained the fire and prevented its spread to the adjoining traditional morung. Cause of fire was due to electrical short circuit, and no casualty was reported. The response team was led by duty commander SI Thenuosielie Pielie and NK/Clark Lalal Gante.
