A fire broke out at Chungaizaeng Colony, Dimapur, on Friday around 12:51 p.m., razing several Assam type tin-roofed bamboo line-room structures and leaving about 15 families homeless. No casualties or injuries were reported.
According to fire officials, two fire tenders from the Central Fire Station and two from the West Fire Station were pressed into service.
Firefighters battled the blaze for about 30 minutes before bringing it under control.
At the time of filing this report, the cause of the fire and the extent of property damage were yet to be ascertained.
