For the first time in Northeast, one of the world’s most renowned implant company, Nobel Biocare (Sweden) in collaboration with Indian Dental Association (IDA), Nagaland State Branch conducted training on clinical dental implant programme in Kohima for Northeast dentists.
According to course co-ordinator, Dr. Pfukrolo Koza, the programme has been divided into two modules which would stretch for the period of six months. For the first clinical module, the lectures and hand-on sessions were conducted at De Oriental Grade Hotel from December 12-13 and the clinical sessions were conducted at Advanced Dental Aesthetic & Implant Clinic, Kohima from December 14-15, along with live-surgeries for implants placement by mentor and all the participants on their patients.
Meanwhile, Dr. Kanir Bhatia from Mumbai, a high profile international renowned oral implantologist and cosmetic dental surgeon would be the mentor of the programme. Patients from Guwahati were also part for the patients benefited from the course. MDS periodontist and oral implantologist, Dr. Pfukrolo Koza who is also a course coordinator has stated that the course would boost the local dentists to be trained as well as give their patients the latest oral rehabilitation treatment.
It may be noted that the vision of the clinical implant programme is to create world-class outstanding and research certification in implant dentistry, develop the next generation of premier scholars and implant dentists.
All participants would be awarded certificates on completion of the course and participant of course would vary from dental college professor, dental specialists and general dentists.
