First NCC festival to be held in Kohima

DIMAPUR:

In a landmark initiative for youth development, the National Cadet Corps (NCC), Nagaland is set to organise its first-ever NCC Festival and Alumni Meet on March 17, 2026, at the Regional Centre of Excellence for Music & Performing Arts (RCEMPA), Jotsoma, Kohima district.
The event will bring together around 600 NCC cadets and alumni, marking a historic milestone for the organisation in the state. NCC Nagaland currently comprises three Army units and one Air Force unit, all under Group HQ Kohima, which will jointly participate in the celebration.
A wide array of events has been lined up for the occasion.
Senior wing cadets will showcase their precision through a continuity drill display, while junior wing cadets will enthrall audiences with a live band performance. Competitive sports and toughness contests such as Iron Man, Iron Lady, and Arm Wrestling will also be highlights of the festival.
The festival aims to provide a vibrant platform for cadets and alumni to exhibit their talents in NCC activities and cultural performances. Several state departments will collaborate to conduct awareness programmes focusing on youth empowerment and skill development. Eminent organisations including the National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT) and the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) will also hold workshops and awareness drives during the event.
