DIMAPUR: In a significant milestone for oilpalm farmers under Mangkolemba sub division, the first ever oilpalm Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFBs) was successfully dispatched from Longtho under SDAO, Mangkolemba.
The dispatch marks the growing success of oilpalm cultivation initiatives undertaken under National Mission on Edible Oils–Oil Palm (NMEO OP) by the Department of Agriculture, Nagaland. It demonstrates the potential of oilpalm as a remunerative crop capable of enhancing farmers’ income and contributing towards the country’s edible oil self sufficiency goals.
A total of 3 metric tonnes of oilpalm Fresh Fruit Bunches from local farmers was procured by Patanjali company in the presence of Mahesh Pathak, State Head, Patanjali, and officials from SDAO, Mangkolemba.
