Fish fingerlings supplied to farmers

As an initiative towards realizing the concerns of providing nutritional security to the state’s rural populace and also as a measure towards reducing fish imports, the state government through its pro farmer programmes has provided over 14.00 million fingerlings to the fish farmers of the state covering all the districts. 
A press note by deputy director of Fisheries, Ketusielie Angami stated that in order to augment fish production in the state which now stands at 8220 MT, the department of Fisheries also carried out seed ranching in several natural water bodies in the state including Doyang reservoir and Shilloi Lake.
