Fisheries dept organises training in Chokriba

A five-day training programme on “Prospect of aquaculture and fisheries for grass root level” was held in Chokriba village under Chozuba Sub-Division in Phek district from February 9-14.
The programme was funded by National Fisheries Development Board (NFDB) and organized by the Department of Fisheries, where altogether 20 fish farmers from five villages of Chokri area participated in the training.
The keynote addressed was delivered by DFO, Yhunsenlo Kent, and the course contents of the training were deliberated by the resource persons including Dzuthoru, Chothihu and Meyete.
During the training on February 11, Rashtriya Krishi Vikash Yogana (RKVY) activities in the cluster area were also highlighted by Divisional Forest Officer followed by distribution of fish feeds to the farmers covered under RKVY 2014-15.
Meanwhile, GB of Phuyoba village, Vefhuzo, has expressed gratitude to the department for reaching out to the remote villages.
