Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, under Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY), handed over one refrigerated van to beneficiary Vishito Kinimi of Dimapur district, in a short program on November 26 at the Directorate premises.
A press release by the department stated that in a brief address, director of fisheries and aquatic resources, Kevisa Kense, highlighted the importance and need to encourage more entrepreneurs to take up fishery related activities.
He also emphasised on the need to develop more post harvest infrastructure facilities which would facilitate and promote marketing of locally produced fish.
The director was hopeful that the beneficiary would make optimum use of the facility by engaging in collection, procuring and selling of locally produced fish and fishery products and make them available for local consumers.
