The Sports Authority of India, Sports Training Centre (SAI STC) Dimapur, in collaboration with Indian Railways, Dimapur, and The GearThrills Cycling Club, organized the FIT India Sundays on Cycle event on Sunday. The initiative, part of the larger FIT India Movement, was launched nationwide on December 17, 2024, by Union Sports Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya.
The event, aligned with the vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, aims to promote fitness and fight obesity while encouraging a healthier and greener India. The theme for this edition, Railways, highlights the role of Indian Railways in nation-building and sustainable transportation.
The cycling rally was officially flagged off at Dimapur Railway Station by Dimapur Medical Officer (DMO), Dr. V. Mathew, along with Station Superintendent (SS) of Indian Railways, Dimapur, Amritesh Kumar Singh. Enthusiastic cyclists and fitness advocates participated, emphasizing the importance of physical activity and environmental sustainability.
