Expressing displeasure and resentment over the appointment of Tsenthungo Lotha as president of Dimapur District Congress Committee (DDCC), five Assembly Constituency Congress Committees (ACCCs) have demanded immediate revocation of the appointment made by party’s high officials and follow democratic norms.
The five ACCCs and frontals contended that the appointment was absolutely unconstitutional as this was allegedly done without taking the consent of DDCC in-charge Jonathan, who is also the vice-president of Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC), and senior party workers and without following any rules and provisions enshrined in the party’s constitution.
They alleged that the proposal made by Jonathan, along with all party officials and workers, was rejected and the party’s constitution and senior workers superseded.
Therefore, through a statement issued by DDCC president I Asang Jamir, the five ACCCs declared Tsenthungo’s appointment as null and void unless it met the demand of the mass majority.
They also warned that no official event would be allowed to be held at the party’s office premises unless the matter was resolved.
