FNR holds memorial service for Niketu Iralu

DIMAPUR: Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR) organised a solemn and a celebratory Memorial Service at Shalom Bible Seminary, Sechü Zubza, on Saturday, October 3, in honour of its stalwart and visionary leader, late Niketu Iralu.
The gathering brought together elders, friends and family members, who came not only to mourn his passing but also to celebrate a life lived in unwavering service to truth, peace and unity. In heartfelt tributes, speakers recalled Iralu’s steadfast commitment to reconciliation and his enduring influence on Naga society and beyond.
His wife, Christine Iralu, and nephew Rev. Dr. Sanyu Iralu, spoke with deep affection and respect, portraying him as a man whose humility, courage and moral clarity touched countless lives. Their words reminded all present that “Uncle Niketu Iralu’s legacy calls us to continue the journey he began.”
The programme concluded with a moving candlelight prayer led by Pari Sanyu, symbolising the light of hope and reconciliation that Iralu carried throughout his life. The flickering candles became a collective pledge to uphold his vision of peace and nurture unity among communities.
In remembering Niketu, the FNR reaffirmed its commitment to the path he illuminate-a path of dialogue, healing and shared responsibility for the future. His life remains a guiding beacon, reminding all that reconciliation is a sacred calling.
