FNT: ENPO holds consultative meet with ENLU

The Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO) held a closed-door consultative meeting with the Eastern Nagaland Legislators’ Union (ENLU) at Hotel Saramati here on Sunday.
The meeting which went on for more than three hours was attended by representatives from frontal organisations across the six ENPO districts, committee study team and ENLU members, including CL John, P Longon, Naiba Konyak, B Bangtick Phom, and Y Lima Onen Chang.
Briefing the media after the meeting, ENPO president A Chingmak Chang disclosed that the meeting focused on deliberating the outcomes of the tripartite talks held in New Delhi on December 13, 2024.
These talks involved ENPO, Ministry of Home Affairs committee led by the home secretary, and representatives of the Nagaland government. He said the consultation also explored strategies for future engagement. He mentioned that such meetings would be held periodically to ensure a unified approach in negotiations with the central government, clarifying that the meeting had no specific agenda or resolutions but served as a briefing on the previous talks.
ENPO president remarked stated that the central government appeared serious in granting executive, legislative, and financial autonomy, as discussions had reached an advanced stage. He informed newsmen that the next round of tripartite talks was scheduled in Nagaland on January 15.
