Food safety awareness at Kohima

Food Safety Authority Kohima Zone under the Chief Medical Officer’s office conducted a Food Safety Awareness Programme at Assam Rifles Public School, Kohima, on July 19.
The programme was part of efforts to promote public health among school children. Dr Meguovilie Sachu from Food Safety on Wheels (FSW) gave a presentation on food fortification, personal hygiene and safe food practices. He emphasized the benefits of fortified foods and the importance of good hygiene in daily life.
Kenyuni Himb conducted a visual demonstration to show how common food adulterants can be detected using simple household methods, making the session interactive and practical. A quiz competition was also held to test students’ understanding of food safety concepts and encourage active learning.
