Football for Peace’ exhibition match in Chümoukedima

DIMAPUR, MAY 30 (NPN): A special exhibition football match between Aizawl FC and Nagaland United Sports Club (NUSC) under the theme “Peace Pays” will be held on June 6 at Chümoukedima Football Stadium at 7 pm.
The event aims to bring together football fans, players and supporters for an evening promoting unity, compassion and regional togetherness through sport. The exhibition match will feature players from Aizawl FC alongside top football talents from Nagaland representing NUSC. Organisers said the “Peace Pays” initiative seeks to go beyond a single football match by using the game as a platform to strengthen harmony and solidarity across the Northeast. Tickets for the event have been priced at Rs. 20 to make the programme accessible to a wider audience. The proceeds from the match will be used to support underprivileged children, while the event itself is being organised as part of a broader “Football for Peace” initiative in the region.
The exhibition match will also pay tribute to late N. William Koso, who served as assistant coach of Aizawl FC and was a member of the governing body of the Nagaland Super League (NSL). He was regarded as one of Nagaland’s most accomplished football coaches. Meanwhile, Aizawl FC will also play an exhibition match against Mon XI on June 2 at Pangting Astro Turf, Mon Village, beginning at 2 pm. The match is expected to give football enthusiasts in Mon an opportunity to witness a special football outing as part of the wider peace initiative.
