Foothills road impasse: PPC seeks ‘mutually beneficial solution’

Describing as “really unsettling” the “unrelenting war of words” between NFHRCC, contractors and concerned department, the Phom Peoples’ Council (PPC) has appealed to the concerned parties to amicably resolve the issues and speed up the works before the onset of monsoon.

In a press release, PPC president Y B Angam Phom general secretary Hamnyei Angh also urged all stakeholders to work together to ensure the project’s timely completion.
PPC encouraged the resolution of any internal issues in an amicable and constructive manner, keeping the greater good of the community in mind.

Phom Peoples’ Council also extended gratitude to the state government for their unwavering support and vision in making these projects a reality. The council said the government’s commitment to improving the region’s infrastructure has been instrumental in driving growth and development.

Further, Phom Peoples’ Council appreciated the NFHRCC for its tireless efforts in bringing the project to fruition, adding that the committee’s dedication and perseverance have been invaluable.

However, Phom Peoples’ Council said that lately there seemed to have arisen differences in perspective and approach, potentially impacting the project’s timeline and overall success.
It said that the ongoing disputes between the committee and the state government have put the project’s future at risk.

PPC expressed belief that it was essential for both parties to engage in constructive dialogue, focusing on finding common ground and resolving their differences amicably.
Phom Peoples’ Council has requested both the parties to put aside differences and work collaboratively to ensure the successful completion of the road project.

The council affirmed its commitment to working with the committee and state government to ensure that the project was completed efficiently and effectively.

The Phom Peoples’ Council expressed confidence that cooperation and commitment to transparency, joint verification, and adherence to the detailed project report would result in a road project that benefits the community for generations to come. Further, Phom Peoples’ Council said its representatives to NFHRCC would oversee and verify the quality of road.
