Former NPP candidate Veprasa Nyekha with supporters join NPF

Former National People’s Party (NPP) candidate Veprasa Nyekha has resigned from the party and formally joined the Naga People’s Front (NPF) along with his supporters.
According to an update from NPF 18th Chozuba Assembly Constituency (AC), Nyekha, a retired District and Sessions Judge, joined the party in Kohima on April 13 in the presence of advisor for CAWD and Taxes, Kudecho Khamo, along with party rank and file from the central office bearers, division and constituency levels.
Welcoming the move, advisor Khamo appreciated the decision of Nyekha and his supporters, including GBs and village council members, to extend support to his leadership and that of Chief Minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio, NPF president, for the greater interest of the constituency and the state.
Khamo described the development as more than a political transition, calling it a collective effort to strengthen the regional party and uphold the aspirations of the Nagas for peace, unity and progress. He reiterated that NPF welcomes all like-minded individuals to join hands for the welfare and development of the state.
President of NPF 18th Chozuba AC, Vevohu Epao, also welcomed Nyekha and his supporters into the party fold, expressing confidence that the constituency, known for its strong patronage of the regional party, would continue to remain committed to serving the community together.
