District Hospital Dimapur (DHD) organized felicitation programme for voluntary blood donors who have donated more than ten times in licensed bank on Wednesday at DHD chapel.
While acknowledging the gesture to every blood donor for saving lives, blood bank in-charge, Dr. Temsu said that the four donors have been selected representing different walks of life.
Dr.Temsu informed that the four donors have decided to donate blood only in licensed bank and have taken the ownership of the blood bank by way of participation and contribution.
Mentioning about his journey starting from 2006, Dr.Temsu maintained that the numbers of blood units collected has increased from 1000 to 7000 (70%).
He appealed the citizens to donate blood only in licensed bank and to insist on certificates and donor card after donation and collect certificates of past donation from blood banks.
In a brief speech, principal director, H&FW, Dr.Sukhato A. Sema thanked the donors for the noble job they have done.
He encouraged the donors to keep up the good gesture for saving many lives.
He also informed that during the state level meeting with chief secretary, the whole Nagaland was projected where about 90, 750 total units collected, district hospital Dimapur was coming to more than 5700.
Dr. Sukhato mentioned that department has streamlined to provide all necessary equipments.
The four donors who have donated blood more than 10 times were medical representative, Appu Roy (14 times), businessman, Satish Kumar (12 times), Kamdi Hemant IFS (10 times) and pastor Thsipise (10 times).
Earlier, welcome address was delivered by medical superintendent, Dr.C.W.Tungoe, while invocation for divine help was pronounced by chaplain DHD, Rev.Mar Pongen.
