All Nagaland Fair Price Shop Association (ANFPSA) has appealed to the state government to release the transportation and handling charges, which has been kept pending for the last 30 months.
ANFPSA through its media cell cautioned that the association would be compelled to launch democratic forms of agitation if the government failed to listen and recognise the difficulty faced by FPS dealers.
The association claimed that the central share had reached the state last November, but the state government was applying its delaying tactics policy in releasing the fund. ANFPSA has lamented that the state government has failed to listen to the plight of the FPS dealers even after appeals made through the director, food & civil supply.
Ever since the introduction of National Food Security Act and its implementation from 2016, the association said the responsible department had managed to release transportation & handling charges for only eight months to the fair price shop dealer all over Nagaland.
It pointed out that Central share of 75% funds has already been sanctioned to the state since last year November 2018 as per the lay down rule of NFSA 2013, However, the association said that the bill has not been released thus far and kept pending for two and a half years.
Therefore, FPS dealers have appealed to the state government to release the bill at the earliest so they could function smoothly and render better service to the beneficiaries.
