DIMAPUR: A Free Cancer Screening cum Multispeciality Health Camp was conducted at Phesama Government Middle School on September 13, registering 275 participants. The camp provided 150 free cancer screenings for oral, breast and cervical cancer, along with 31 ultrasound scans, 26 minor procedures (general and dental), and 84 diagnostic tests. Free medicines were also distributed to beneficiaries.
The camp was organised by Dr. K & T Keditsu Foundation, a registered public charitable trust, in collaboration with the National Oral Health Programme (NOHP), Directorate of Health & Family Welfare, Government of Nagaland, with support from the Biocon Foundation, Bengaluru, and Putuonuo Hospital, Kohima.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Thejangulie Ciesotsu, MSW Dr K&T, followed by a camp brief from Dr. Kikrukhrietuo Khezhie, Emergency Physician Assistant, Putuonuo Hospital. An Oral Health & Cancer Awareness session was delivered by Dr. Neiphrezo Sorünuo, Dental Surgeon, NHAK, while Tuolie Seleyi, VCC Phesama, proposed the vote of thanks. The programme concluded with a prayer by Dr. Thorsie Katiry, MD Medicine.
Altogether, 42 medical personnel participated, including 6 doctors, 34 paramedics from Putuonuo Hospital and private hospitals/clinics, and 8 project staff from Dr. K & T Keditsu Foundation.
