A Free Cataract/IOL Surgery Camp was organized at District Hospital Kiphire (DHK), by state ophthalmic cell under National Program for Control of Blindness & Visual Impairment (NPCB&VI), Nagaland, from December 3 to 7.
A press release from state program officer (NPCB & Vl), Dr. Mereninla Senlem stated that altogether 38 cataract operations were done and all the patients were given free intra ocular lens, medicines and goggles.
The team was led by Dr. Mereninla Senlem, SPO (NPCB&VI) Nagaland, Dr. Hedungkiebe, eye specialist (DTO, RNTCP Kiphire), Lelhu Iralu, Mego, C. Chemkhokyo Sangtam (ophthalmic assistant), Lucy (staff nurse NHAK) and Jungtsungna Lemtor, budget & AO (NPCB&VI) Nagaland.
