Free health camp at Chandmari

A free health camp was, organised by Chandmari, Gorkha Union and Kripa foundation, Nagaland at the Multi Utility Hall, GPPK, Complex Chandmari on Saturday.
The camp was supported by MLA of Kohima town 9/AC, Dr Tseilhoutuo Rhütso, Gorkha Public Panchayat, UPHC Porterlane, Sun Pharma, NSACS and Health and Family Welfare.
A door to door visit for elderly persons around the locality was also carried out.
A brief programme was held before the camp, where Managing Director, KOHIMAS Hospital, Dr Keneilhoulie Medom emphasized on the lifestyle modification disease which has become common among the citizens.
He informed that more health camps would be initiated under the MLA of Kohima town 9/AC and urged the people to register and do regular checkup.
Dr Medom also informed that as per the National Family Health Survey 2019-20, about 22.4% women and men 28.47% were said to be diagnosed with high Blood Pressure.
He further encouraged the gathering to go for regular checkup of their health and stressed on the need to make health as their main priority.
Further, Dr Medom encouraged the gathering to avail the Chief Minister Health Insurance Scheme (CMHIS) which was initiated to alleviate financial hardships due to hospitalization expenses and to prevent inaccessibility to medical care on account of unaffordability.
Speaking on the “Basic of HIV and AIDS”, Ainato Yeptho, said rate of HIV prevalence has increased over the years in Nagaland and informed that almost 90% of the cases were due to sexual route.
He also spoke on the preventive measures, including taking proper medication and usage of condoms.
The program was chaired by CGU, secretary, Samir Thapa, invocation by Khrievotsonuo Terhase and vote of thanks by chairman, CGU, Prem Kumar Thappa.
