A free heart camp for children aged 0–18 years was jointly organized at District Hospital Dimapur under the Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) programme by the Department of Health & Family Welfare Nagaland and Sky Hospital & Research Center Pvt. Ltd, Imphal on July 23.
The initiative was sponsored by the Manipur Heart Foundation.
Altogether, 44 children received free consultation and ECHO screening. Of these, 12 were diagnosed with congenital heart defects (CHDs), including Atrial Septal Defect (ASD), Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD), and Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA). The identified cases will be treated by Sky Hospital under the RBSK scheme. The medical team from Sky Hospital was led by Dr Nurul Islam, accompanied by staff members Ranika (ECHO), Dayanada (OT), and other supporting personnel. The RBSK team Dimapur also assisted during the camp.
