Free medical camp at Sürümi village

DIMAPUR

A free medical camp was held on June 20 at Sürümi village under Sürühuto Sub-division, Zunheboto district, as part of the ongoing year-long celebration of the Sürümi centennial jubilee of Christianity.
The event was organised by 23 doctors from the village.
Dr. Nitovi Shikhu, deputy director, Health & Family Welfare, Kohima, introduced the medical team from the Zunheboto Health department and briefed the gathering on the arrangements. He informed that the cost of medicines was borne by the organising doctors, who also contributed Rs. 1 lakh towards the Jubilee fund.
More than 200 patients were treated during the camp, with doctors offering services in various specialties. The medical team was led by Dr. Akaho Sema, Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Zunheboto.
The programme was chaired by planning secretary Khukiye Awomi, with an invocation by pastor Hekuto Aye. Words of appreciation were delivered by Er. Shikato Jakhalu, chairman of the Jubilee Planning Board.
The event witnessed the participation of Jubilee Planning Executives, GBs, and elders from Kohima, Dimapur, Zunheboto, Mokokchung, and Sürühuto.
