A free medical camp for government officers and staff was organised on June 25 by Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN) in collaboration with Medanta–The Medicity, at the IDAN office, Capital Convention Centre, Kohima.
According to DIPR report, Nagaland Legislative Assembly Speaker Sharingain Longkumer, who graced the programme as chief guest, officially launched the camp with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. In his address, Sharingain thanked the doctors, nurses and Medanta team, and appreciated IDAN for bringing healthcare closer to public servants.
He spoke on the benefits of the Chief Minister’s Health Insurance Scheme (CMHIS), sharing his own experience of availing cashless treatment through the scheme. He also stressed on the need for more investment in healthcare, cancer awareness and preventive care.
Earlier, IDAN under secretary I. Changsang delivered the welcome address. Vice president of Medanta Group, Tarun Majumdar, spoke on the aim of the camp and highlighted the hospital’s partnership with the Nagaland government through a Memorandum of Understanding to implement the CMHIS. Vote of thanks was delivered by Rohan Abraham, head of Northeast India Strategy, Medanta.
The camp offered free consultations with specialists from Medanta Hospital, Gurugram, including a cardiologist, oncologist and general physicians. Screenings included blood pressure, random blood sugar, ECG (on doctor’s recommendation), bone mineral density and pulmonary function tests.
