A free awareness workshop on “Preparing for Working in Japan” was held on July 18 at Marwari Patti Center, Dimapur, organized by NITI Dimapur Centre in collaboration with AOTS (Association for Overseas Technical Cooperation and Sustainable Partnerships), under the Japanese Endowed Courses (JEC) series supported by Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
The workshop saw participation from over 100 students, academicians, and administrators, aimed at opening global career opportunities for youth in Nagaland. Prof. Tomio Isogai, a Japanese expert and mentor, addressed the gathering and highlighted Japan’s growing demand for young, skilled professionals. He said Nagaland’s youth are well-suited for success in Japan due to their agility, hospitality, and eagerness to learn.
He was joined by Mohita Modgill, AOTS JEC Coordinator, and Pursenla Jamir, Manager at AOTS India Office, who shared practical guidance on language learning, adapting to Japanese work culture, and government-supported skill programs.
CEO of NITI Nagaland, Rishav Sethi, welcomed the gathering and emphasized the importance of global exposure and skill-based education. Managing Director, Ajay Sethi, delivered the vote of thanks and reaffirmed NITI’s commitment to connecting Northeast youth with international career opportunities.
The programme was anchored by Ujala Dey. Leaders from Norman Putsure College, Pilgrim Higher Secondary School, and Bethesda Youth Welfare Center also spoke at the event and expressed interest in future collaborations.
