A wildfire once again broke out in DEF area here on Wednesday morning, before being brought under control. According to Mokokchung district administration, the wildfire broke out around 9 am.
Upon receiving information, personnel of State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), District Fire and Emergency Services, Assam Rifles, District Executive Force (DEF) and public volunteers from Chuchuyimpang, Mokokchung, Khensa, Ungma, Süngratsü and Mopungchuket villages immediately swung into action to control the blaze.
The fire, which spread rapidly towards the nearby residences and DEF staff quarters, was brought under control around 4:30 pm with no report of any human casualty.
