Fuel prices hiked again

After a day’s hiatus, state-owned oil marketing companies (OMCs) Thursday increased the prices of petrol and diesel prices pushing the prices of two auto fuels to a near-record highs across the country.

According to a price notification of the OMCs, petrol price was hiked by 25 paise per litre while diesel was increased by 30 paise per litre. This is the second price increase in petrol since the ending of a three-week-long hiatus in rate revision and the fifth in the case of diesel.

After the rate revision, petrol price in Dimapur climbed to Rs.100.17 per litre and diesel proce rose to Rs.91.99 per litre. In the state capital Kohima, petrol and diesel prices soared to Rs.101.17 per litre and Rs.92.80 per litre respectively.

According to PTI, the international oil prices are at three-year high with global benchmark Brent trading at USD 78.64 per barrel.
