
Petrol and diesel price witnessed a hike for fourth day straight on Sunday. Petrol price went up 9-10 paise while diesel price went up 8-9 paise.
In Delhi, petrol on Sunday was retailing at Rs 70.37 per litre as against Rs 70.28 on Saturday. Diesel in the city was selling at Rs 64.19 per litre.
In Dimapur, petrol was priced at Rs 68.37 per litre on Sunday while diesel was retailing at Rs 61.98 per litre. In the state capital Kohima, fuel price was up by 20 paise on Sunday– petrol cost Rs. 68.86 per litre and diesel Rs. 62.43 per litre.
Analysts believe trade tensions between Washington and Beijing has weighed on crude prices, stoking fears that slowing economic growth could reduce demand for the commodity in the coming days.
Oil marketing companies such as Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum review fuel prices on a daily basis, and any revisions are implemented at the fuel stations with effect from 6 am. The domestic fuel prices are determined broadly by the global crude oil and rupee-dollar forex rates.
