DIMAPUR, NOV 6 (NPN): Future Infosystems, which has been operating in Dimapur since 2010, expanded its business with the inauguration of its second and larger showroom at SD Complex, Khermahal, Circular Road, Dimapur, on Friday.
The new showroom marks an expansion of the company’s product range, which initially focused primarily on computer-related products, including laptops, desktops and computer accessories. With the expansion, the business has also ventured into a wider range of consumer electronics and home appliances, including televisions, refrigerators, washing machines, air coolers and other electronic products.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by advisor, Tribal Affairs and Election, H. Tovihoto Ayemi, as the chief guest, while Principal District and Sessions Judge, N. Longshithung Ezung, attended as the guest of honour.
Speaking about the expansion, the store owner Anand Sethi said the new showroom was aimed at providing customers with a wider range of products under one roof. He said the new outlet offered more spacious shopping facilities along with parking space, making it more convenient for customers.
He clarified that the new showroom was the company’s second outlet, with both outlets located in Dimapur and no branches in other districts.
The store offers leading brands across its product categories, including HP, Dell, Lenovo and Acer in laptops, while its electronics range includes LG, Samsung and Voltas. It also stocks audio products from JBL, Marshall and Bose, among other brands.
According to the owner Sethi, HP remains the highest-selling brand in the computer segment, owing to its extensive product range, which includes laptops, desktops, printers, monitors and Xerox machines.
On the impact of online shopping on local businesses, Sethi acknowledged that online platforms had affected the offline retail market but maintained that physical stores continued to offer advantages, particularly in after-sales service and customer assistance.
He said customers purchasing products from the showroom could physically inspect and experience them before making a purchase, while also receiving assistance in accessing service facilities even after the manufacturer’s warranty period had expired.
He pointed out that although products generally carried a one-year warranty, as per the respective manufacturer’s policy, customers often faced difficulties in obtaining service and support when purchasing electronic goods online.
Sethi said the showroom continued to assist its customers in arranging repairs and resolving service-related issues even after the warranty period, adding that such after-sales support remained an important aspect of the business.
He also highlighted the inconvenience associated with online purchases, particularly when customers received products different from what they had ordered or were dissatisfied with the delivered items, making returns and exchanges a cumbersome process.
