DIMAPUR: Gandhi Shilp Bazar (District)-Exhibition cum Sale of Handloom and Handicraft Products was inaugurated on September 1 by T. Lemnon Wangsha, additional director of Industries & Commerce, at the State Academy Hall Compound, near PHQ Junction, PR Hill, Kohima. The event was held in the presence of officials from the Handicraft Service Centre (HSC) and the Implementing Agency.
Organised by the Nagaland Women Vocational Training Institute (NWVTI) and sponsored by the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, the exhibition will continue till September 7, 2026.
A total of 40 participants from Nagaland, Assam, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura and Meghalaya are showcasing a wide range of handloom and handicraft products, providing a platform to promote traditional craftsmanship and support local artisans.
The Implementing Agency (NWVTI) expressed gratitude to the Handicrafts Service Centre (HSC), Kohima, for its valuable support.
The public has been invited to visit the exhibition and extend support to the participating artisans.
