Gandhiji’s NaiTalim released on Teachers’ Day

Marking the occasion of “Teacher’s Day”, a book titled “Experiential Learning – Gandhiji’s NaiTalim” was launched on September 5 simultaneously across 29 states of India and the NCR.

A press release from Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education (MGNCRE) Ravindra Reddy stated that this book contains basic principles of Gandhiji’s NaiTalim (notes and interpretations), along with the work and education curriculum for schools, D.Ed, B.Ed and faculty development programs for teachers.

Gandhiji’s NaiTalim or basic education is a holistic approach of developing body, mind and soul (hand, head and heart), by making a productive art, craft or community engagement activity as the centre of learning.

In Nagaland, it will impact around 3,49,696 students and 30,320 teachers in 2,799 primary schools as well as 90,417 students and 5,566 teachers in 736 secondary schools as part of the Abhiyan.
