Ganja seized,2 arrested

Acting on a tip off, Dimapur police late Wednesday night seized around 2800 kgs of contraband ganja from a truck (NL07 A-1838) at Nagarjan Police point, and arrested two persons including the driver and handyman of the truck.
The driver was identified as Raju Debnath (28), son of Ashish Debnath of Sibsagar and a resident of Tata Parking area, Dimapur, while his handyman was identified as Kamrul Uddin (18), son of Abdul Hannan of Nagaon, presently residing at Khermahal.
According to police, the vehicle along with the loaded consignment was on its way from Kohima when it was intercepted at Nagarjan. Police said the contraband would be worth around Rs.16 lakh in the local market.
