The Kohima police manning inter-state check gate at Khuzama while conducting routine checking and frisking of vehicles intercepted one truck and recovered 519 kilos of contraband ganja on March 21.
The contraband, worth Rs. 25,95,000 in the national market, was found concealed inside a special compartment, designed for transporting illegal items, informed a press release from PRO Kohima police. In this connection, two persons identified as Suresh Kumar (25 yrs) of Maram Subonabam and Karaiba (37 yrs) of Maram under Senapati, Manipur were taken into police custody. A regular case under NDPS Act has been registered against them.
