Garbage and violation of traffic rule

Staff Reporter

For months on end, garbage continues to pile up by the side of the NH 29, near the old airport road. Garbage litters the entire stretch and emits foul smell but so far there has been no effort to clear the piles by those responsible.
A signboard that clearly prohibits parking in the particular area as security precaution is ignored. Several auto rickshaws are parked in the ‘restricted zone’ without any care for the signboard. These two scenes clearly expose how public respond to civic responsibility and obeying the law. At a time when tourists are expected to visit the state, cleanliness and enforcement of traffic rules leaves much to be desired.
