Under the initiative of Urban Development and Tuensang Town Council, Neighbourhood Sanitation Committees, the garbage collection vehicles was launched on April 11 at town hall, Tuensang by brand ambassador, Swatchh Bharat Mission Tuensang district, T. Khongo as the chief guest.
According to DIPR report, speaking on the occasion Khongo appreciated ADC and administrator Tuensang Town Council, Nchumbemo Odyuo for taking initiative in buying garbage collection vehicles which was much needed in the district. He said that Tuensang town should be kept clean to set an example to the village areas. Dumping of waste in residential area can bring many communicable diseases, he said and added that Clean India under Swatchh Bharat Mission was one of important schemes of present central government.
Welcome address was delivered by ADC Tuensang Nchumbemo Odyuo, short speeches were delivered by president TTAWU, Ato Chang and advisor CKS, Khoma Yangbou. Vote of thanks was given by EAC (P) Avonuo Kire EAC. The function was chaired by EAC (P) Limakumla Pongener.
