Gender sensitization under BBBP in Phek

A gender sensitization programme under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) was organized by district administration and District Level Centre for Women, Mahila Shakti Kendra Phek in collaboration with the department of Social Welfare, Health & Family Welfare and DEF Phek on August 28 at Phek town.

Altogether, 70 participants representing Village Council Chairman, Village Development Board, church leaders, teachers, chairman of VHC & VEC, Town Youth Society and Women Organizations from Phek Sadar and Khuza circle villages attended the programme.
EAC Phek, Vithwel Kweho in his keynote address highlighted the importance of gender equality. 
Jitsiasa Nyusuo, centre administrator, Sakhi – One Stop Centre spoke on “Gender equality” and stressed on the importance of equal participation of women in the decision making process. 
Dr. Limatoshi, CMO Office, Phek gave a power point presentation on “Gender Health Issue” and highlighted various topics on health problem such as gender and health inequality, women health compare to men and factors that determine gender health inequality. 
Khekato, UBSI, Police Station, Phek, spoke on “Legal rights on gender sensitization” and highlighted the IPC Code related to women and child. 
Moderator for open forum (discussion) was led by Avikuotho Ngouri, District Coordinator, DLCW MSK Phek. 
Earlier, the programme was chaired by Veposelu Naroh, District Coordinator, and DLCW MSK Phek.
