Ghokuto and Viheto villages remained cut-off as the only road that connects the two villages to EAC headquarters Nihokhu was damaged by landslide, triggered by heavy downpour on June 24-25.
In a press statement, head GB of Ghokuto village, G. Shikavi Zhimo said that the road was severely affected in several places and in some places the road has been blocked due to continuous mud-slide. He also claimed that the village has been maintaining the road on its own by deploying villagers and through funds from the village council. The road was constructed in 2012 under PMGSY.
