
National Road Safety Week from April 23 to 30 was observed by Government High School (GHS) Burma Camp, wherein students were taken out of the school campus and taught on various safety guidelines.
A press release from GT GHS, Burma Camp, Omega G. Naga stated that, a variety of programs related to road safety were organised to enlighten the students on road safety, driving rules and cautions. During the week-long observance a variety of educational banners, safety posters, safety films, pocket guides and leaflets related to road safety were also distributed to road travellers and students as well.
Students were made aware of other rules such as traffic signals, guidelines on how to cross roads, using sidewalks, and staying safe in a moving vehicle.
Students were also taught, how to conduct pre-journey inspection, importance of wearing seat belts & helmets, maintaining speed limit and the ill effects of driving under the influence of alcohol and other intoxicating substances was also explained to them.
The school also organised a painting competition on the topic “road safety” for students of class 10 to mark the success and end of the week long observance.
