Three-day literary week conducted by Government High School Wokha Village culminated on August 23. The programme was organised to boost competitiveness spirit among the students.
The activities included folk songs, spell bee, painting/sketching, essays, handicraft making, debate, quiz, storytelling, poem recitation, extempore speech and contemporary song singing. The competition was held house-wise (Green, Red, Yellow and Blue) in two categories (Junior and Senior).
On day one, competition was held on Folk Song Singing competition consisting of house wise group folk song and Solo folk song singing competition (two participants each house) for both junior and senior category. A contemporary singing competition, solo and duet (Junior and Senior) was conducted where two participants from each house participated.
On the second day, the first session of the competition consisted of a Quiz competition for the Senior category (two participants in each house), Storytelling for the Junior category (two participants in each House) and an Extempore speech competition (three participants each house). In the second session, the competition consisted of a Debate for the senior category (three participants in each house) and a poem Recitation for both the Junior and Senior categories (two participants in each house).
On the final day, the competition was held on Spell Bee for both Junior and Senior categories and Handicraft making for the boys (Basket waving) and for the girls (Cutting& tailoring) were conducted.
GHS Wokha headmaster Enibemo Yanthan expressed satisfaction on active participation by the students and believed that conducting such activities will help them in future.
