GHSS and SFS set up final clash in 9th inter-school football tourney

DIMAPUR, SEP 12 (NPN): The semi-finals of the High School section in the ongoing 9th Biennial Interschool Football Tournament, organized by the Medziphema Town Students’ Union, produced two decisive victories that set up a much-anticipated final clash between Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) and SFS Higher Secondary School.
In the semi-final match between GHSS and CBMS, despite heavy rain and waterlogged conditions, GHSS showcased resilience and attacking flair. Rokovizo struck twice in the 17th and 45th minutes, continuing his prolific form, while Viselie added another in the 19th minute. GHSS sealed a commanding 3–0 win over Chakhroma Baptist Mission School to secure their place in the final.
In another semi-final clash between SFS and MCS, SFS Higher Secondary School edged past Modern Christian School with a solitary goal from Chontinngam in the 17th minute.
Despite spirited attempts from both sides, neither team managed to convert their chances, leaving SFS victorious with a narrow 1–0 scoreline.
The semi-final matches were graced by deputy ranger, Visakholie Kuotsu and proprietor of K. Makritsu Enterprise, Ketholezo Makritsu, who attended as match patrons, adding prestige to the day’s proceedings.
