GHSS Chukitong’s Sales Day Sparks Community Spirit, Supports Students

In a remarkable showcase of unity and initiative, Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Chukitong in Nagaland’s Wokha district successfully held its much-anticipated “Sales Day” on July 25, 2025. Driven by the collaborative efforts of the School Management and Development Committee (SMDC), along with passionate support from parents, students, and staff, the event aimed to raise essential funds for Class 10 students’ hostel fees

Staged at the bustling Taxi Stand in Chukitong, the event drew enthusiastic locals who eagerly browsed and purchased a diverse range of goods—fresh organic vegetables, local fruits, chicken, handmade crafts, vibrant flowers, traditional pickles, and even unique regional delicacies like crickets. The energy of the day was electric, fueled by the tireless teamwork of students, teachers, and families working side by side.

GHSS Chukitong expressed hope that the proceeds will directly improve the lives of needy students, while also inspiring a broader sense of social responsibility within the community. The initiative not only provided financial support but also taught participants vital skills in entrepreneurship, collaboration, and civic engagement.

“Sales Day was more than just a fundraiser—it was a living classroom of values and community empowerment,” a school spokesperson remarked.

The event’s success stands as a powerful testament to the impact of grassroots collaboration in nurturing future leaders through real-world experiences.
