G&M dept notifies

Reiterating that it was authorised by the State government to grant quarry permit and levy tax/royalty from minor mines, Department of Geology & Mining has asked all quarry and mining operators, transporters, suppliers and stockists in the State to obtain quarry and mining permits from Directorate of Geology & Mining with immediate effect.
In a press release, Geology & Mining director, Wanthang Rengma declared that, henceforth, any quarry or mining permit granted by any person, agency or department other than the department of Geology & Mining would be treated as cancelled with immediate effect.
Rengma, however, clarified that the quarry permits issued by the Forest department prior to this notification may be submitted to the Department of Geology & Mining for revalidation/re-issue of mining permit. 
“A copy of the Treasury Challan already deposited to the Govt. treasury through the Forest department, if any, may also be submitted to the Directorate of Geology & Mining for further verification and regularization on or before 20th December, 2017,” Rengma added.
