GMS Darogapathar celebrates golden jubilee

Government Middle School (GMS) Darogapathar celebrated its golden jubilee on December 15, at its school premises with Deputy District Education Officer (DDEO), Dimapur R. Amongla Jamir as chief guest. 
Speaking at the programme, the chief guest congratulated the school management and teachers for the celebration as well as for the recent up-gradation of the middle school to a high school.
Amongla said the students of the school are fortunate as they do not have to go in search of other schools after passing Class-8, since the school has been upgraded. 
She lamented that students studying in government schools drop out after passing Class-8, due to absence of government-run high schools in their locality and their parents cannot afford to admit their children in private schools.
Jamir stressed on community participation to make the school serve its mission of imparting education. She urged the teachers to be more dedicated and sincere in their duties so that the school becomes a role model for other government schools.
Brief history of the school was delivered by GMS, Darogapathar first head teacher Chandrika Nath and short speeches was delivered by village council chairman Nungtok Jamir and EBRC.  
The programme highlighted unveiling of the jubilee monolith and release of jubilee souvenir by the chief guest respectively, jubilee song was presented by school choir and choreography was presented by primary section. 
Earlier, invocation prayer was pronounced by Ao Baptist Church (ABC) Darogapathar pastor Kilang and welcome address was delivered by SMC chairman Rokovilie Chakhesang. 
Later, vote of thanks was delivered by GMS Darogapathar head teacher, Kono Angami and benediction was pronounced by Believers Eastern Church Mission (BECM) secretary reverend Fr. Xuvishe Swu.
