“The greatest offence of all is a teacher who doesn’t want to go school and its curse will go from generation to generations,” declared Temsusenla Jamir, SDEO Longleng, at the upgradation of Longleng Primary School, Shayung ward, cum inauguration of new school building on February 11.
Speaking on the occasion, chief guest lauded the teachers of the school and public of ward for their tireless support in completing the new school building. She said teachers who do not perform duties would commit the greatest offence adding the sins committed would affect more future generation and there is no way to erase once committed. She said being a teacher one should have clear vision, wisdom and touching spirit to mould up the career of the students of the schools.
The chief guest also commented that the state government in the year 2002 had passed the communization programme to create opportunity for all to take part in school management and to plan programmes and policiesy etc. so that only the teachers of the schools may not suffer while implementing positive activities of the schools. She said with the implementation of this policy there are no more thatch constructed school buildings in the state and every community takes responsibilities for the growth of the schools.
She attributed teachers as man makers where students learn best from them to build their future. She said the foremost that a teacher should to do is to understand the psychology of the students and apply it accordingly. Jamir while lauding all the good initiatives, lamented on proxy teachers in all the schools of the state which is a great concern for the student’s future. She, therefore, advised the teachers to give up the practice of proxy.
Public leaders Pukyung Phom and C Kamsung Phom and SIS Longleng Ponghok Phom also spoke on the occasion.
Earlier, Hadok Phom, TEC chairman GMS Shayung, delivered the welcome address, while the invocation prayer was said by Lomching, STO Longleng, and special song was presented by Shayung ward youth. The vote of thanks was said by Y Phomlic, T/ In-charge, and the benediction by PJ Lakba Phom.
