DIMAPUR, SEP 26 (NPN): The Gorkha Nepali Christian Revival Church, Nagabazar, (GNCRC) Kohima, organised the 1st Edition of the Open Penalty Shootout as a fundraising initiative towards the construction of its church building.
The event aimed to raise funds for the church construction while also providing a platform to promote sportsmanship, fellowship, community participation and unity. The programme was graced by MLA, Dr Tseilhoutuo Rhutso, as the Guest of Honour. Addressing the gathering, Rhutso expressed his support and goodwill towards the Gorkha and Nepali community and highlighted the importance of unity and togetherness. The President of Gorkha Panchayat, Chandmari, also attended the programme and extended his support to the initiative.
The Pastor and Organising Committee expressed their heartfelt gratitude to all participating teams, churches, supporters, sponsors, guests and well-wishers for their contributions towards making the fundraising event a success.
The committee also expressed its sincere appreciation to the TM School Authority for granting permission to use the school ground for the event. It acknowledged the school authority’s cooperation and support in facilitating the programme.
