GoI extends CF with NSCN (Khango), NSCN (NK)

Government of India (GoI) on Friday extended the ceasefire agreements with two NSCN factions– NSCN (K-Khango) and NSCN (NK) led by N Kitovi Zhimomi for another year.


The ceasefire with NSCN (Khango) has been extended with effect from April 18, 2025 to April 17, 2026 while the ceasefire with NSCN (NK) headed by Kitovi has been extended with effect from April 28, 2025 till April 27, 2026.


Separate agreements were signed by additional secretary Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Piyush Goyal with NSCN/K-Khango CFSB supervisor A Imyapangba Ao and CFSB secretary K. Tongs and NSCN (NK) group led by team leader G Naga and secretary Chuba Tungoe.
It stated that the extension of ceasefire agreement was to bring about a lasting peace in the State of Nagaland with the involvement of Naga people.


The agreements further stated that the ceasefire would be subject to adherence to the Ceasefire Ground Rules (CFGR) mutually agreed and signed by the two sides. The CFGR would be subject to mutual review and amendment with the involvement of both the parties.

CF extension a step toward peace: Kitovi

DIMAPUR, APR 11 (NPN): GPRN/NSCN ato kilonser N. Kitovi Zhimomi has emphasized that the recent extension of the ceasefire agreement with the Government of India should not be viewed as a triumph over ‘gen.’ (Retd.) Neokpao Konyak and ato kilonser Alezo Venuh.
Rather, he stated, “it represents a vital chance to cultivate a peaceful and honorable political solution to the enduring Indo-Naga conflict.”


Kitovi underscored that the development was not just an opportunity, but a crucial step forward that can pave the way for reconciliation and create a brighter future for all involved.
