GoI, NSCN-(K) Niki extend ceasefire

Government of India and NSCN-(K) Niki on September 4 mutually decided to extend the ceasefire agreement for a period of one year with effect from September 8, 2024.

The ceasefire agreement was jointly signed in Delhi by additional secretary (MHA) Piyush Goyal and representatives of NSCN (K) Niki– CFSB supervisor Abel Zingrü Thuer and CFSB secretary Amenka Achumi.

According to the MHA, the Ceasefire will be subject to adherence to ceasefire ground rules (CFGR) mutually agreed to and signed by the two sides. CFGR will be subject to mutual review and amendment with the involvement of both the parties.
