Gov announces launch of NSL on Dr. T. Ao’s birth anniversary

Nagaland Governor La Ganesan on Sunday announced the launch of the Nagaland Super League (NSL) on January 28, 2025, coinciding with the birth anniversary of legendary footballer Dr. Talimeren Ao.


Ganesan made the announcement while addressing the 76th Republic Day celebrations at the Nagaland Civil Secretariat Plaza, Kohima. He said that NSL, a collaboration between the All India Football Federation, the Nagaland Olympic Association, and the Nagaland Football Association, aims to provide a platform for the state’s sports fraternity.


Governor highlighted that NSL will open new opportunities, promote entrepreneurship, generate employment, and nurture club culture in Nagaland while giving a significant boost to the sports industry.
